Infection Control

The COVID-19 omicron variant continues to spread throughout our communities. However, we are happy to be able to remain open to address all of our patients’ needs during this time!

At Habelt Dentistry, we are taking the COVID-19 crisis very seriously and are dedicated to stopping the spread of bacteria and viruses. Apart from screening every patient individually, we are taking further steps to inhibit any transmission and to keep the office as sterile as possible. Thank you for helping us achieve this goal, and please reschedule if you are experiencing any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms.

We have added HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) Purifiers to all of our treatment rooms to reduce the spread of any particles (e.g. respiratory droplets) that may carry coronavirus.

Furthermore, infection controls and universal precautions protect clients and staff alike. Rigorous infection control benefits everyone at the office — you, your dentist, and the dental team. The cornerstone in a high-quality and safe dental practice is the element of trust. You should feel free to discuss this topic with our staff.

Our team follow procedures recommended by several federal agencies: the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These measures include:

  • Disinfectant hand soap
  • Gloves and face masks (N-95)
  • Chemical disinfection (tuberculocidal and effective against COVID-19) of countertops and surfaces between EVERY patient
  • Sterilization of all equipment before every use
  • Disposable materials

We sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental hand pieces. We use an autoclave, a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure.

The best defense against disease is information. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make wise decisions about your health care. The more you know about our daily procedures and policies, the more comfortable you will feel.
